Articles 10/04/2025 Academic leave is granted to students in the following manner

The Regulation on Granting Academic Leave was approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021 (No. 344). According to the regulation, students have the right to take academic leave at their own discretion, regardless of their form of study.

To take academic leave, the student submits an application to the rector (director) of the higher education institution.

✔️ Academic leave may be granted in the following cases:

➖ for military service;

➖ to restore health;

➖ for pregnancy;

➖ for childcare;

➖ to care for a sick family member.

❕Academic leave is granted during any part of the academic year for the period established by legislative acts. In this case, one of the specified periods is determined by the rector (director) of the higher education institution in accordance with the student's application.

The application must be accompanied by a document justifying the reason for taking academic leave (a conscription notice for military service, or a conclusion from a medical institution where the student is under constant medical supervision, or a conclusion from a medical institution where a sick family member is under constant medical supervision).

✅ The application will be reviewed within one week, and the granting of leave will be formalized by order of the higher education institution's rector (director). It will indicate the start and end dates of the academic leave.

➖Granting academic leave to a student is not considered expulsion from the higher education institution.

➖Also, students will not receive scholarships during their academic leave.

➖Students returning from academic leave within the established timeframe are not obligated to retake previously completed subjects.
