In the Composition Art program, students learn to create musical works, mastering the principles of building melodies, songs, and small and large musical forms. Core subjects include music theory, harmony, polyphony, analysis of musical forms, and orchestration. Students also develop instrumental performance skills on piano or another instrument, along with solfeggio and music history.
A graduate becomes a composer, an author of musical works. They may write music and arrangements for songs, instrumental pieces, pop performances, theatre productions, and films. In addition, graduates may work as music editors, teachers, or leaders of music projects.
Graduates can work in Uzbekistan in theatres, concert organizations, philharmonic societies, pop ensembles, radio and television studios, film and animation studios, music publishing houses, and educational institutions. There is also the opportunity to work independently as a creative professional in advertising and multimedia.
This program suits applicants who deeply love music, want to express their ideas through melody, and are patient and ready for creative exploration. A good musical ear, sense of rhythm, imagination, and the ability to work independently are important. An interest in writing tunes and working with sheet music is also an advantage.
