Instrumental Performance: Wind and Percussion Instruments

What is taught in this program

In this program, students develop professional performance skills on wind and percussion instruments. The main focus is on solo performance, instrumental technique and performance culture. The program is offered at the Uzbekistan State Conservatory and its Nukus branch. Core subjects include:

• Principal instrument performance — technique on the chosen instrument, breath or stroke technique, performance style;
• Ensemble and orchestra — playing together and taking part in concert programs;
• Music theory, solfeggio and harmony — developing musical hearing and literacy;
• History of music — getting to know national and world musical heritage;
