Software Engineering

What is taught in this field

Students learn how computer programs are designed, built, tested and deployed. Training is based on core subjects such as mathematics, algorithms and data structures, programming languages, databases, operating systems and computer networks. In later stages, students study web applications, mobile software, software testing, project management and software system architecture.

Through practical projects, students develop teamwork skills, code review and documentation habits. Reading technical literature in English is also an important part of the training.

Who the graduate becomes

Graduates can work as software engineers, developers, web developers, mobile application developers, systems analysts, software testers (QA engineers), database administrators or DevOps specialists. Many graduates later grow into project managers or technical leads (team leads).

Software engineering specialists are in demand in all sectors. In Uzbekistan they can work at IT companies and software development studios, banks and financial organizations, government agencies working on the digitalization of public services, information systems in education and healthcare, telecommunications companies, and outsourcing companies serving foreign clients. Launching their own startup or working as freelancers is also a common path.
