Design: Footwear and Accessories Design

What is taught in this field

In this field, students learn to design footwear and accessories such as bags, belts, gloves and other products. In the first years, they study the basics of drawing, composition, color and form. Later they work with computer graphics and design software, create patterns (lasts and templates), and learn the properties of different materials, including leather, textiles and modern synthetic raw materials.

Core subjects include footwear and accessories technology, product construction, ergonomics, and the history and theory of design. Students learn to analyze fashion, prepare sketches and technical drawings, and create prototypes. Practical classes and projects help connect theory with real products. The programs are offered by Bukhara State Technical University and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

Graduates are prepared for careers as footwear and accessories designers, pattern makers, product development specialists, stylists, or design studio staff. Their work involves creating new collections, developing the appearance and comfort of products, and providing technical support in the production process.
