What is taught in this field

In the Design: Advertising and Applied Graphics programme, students learn the foundations of visual communication. The curriculum provides in-depth knowledge of drawing, composition, typography, colour theory and the creation of graphic design projects. Students learn to work with modern computer software and to design logos, posters, book covers, packaging and advertising materials. This programme is taught at the National Institute of Painting and Design.

Core subjects include drawing and draughtsmanship, composition, typography, advertising fundamentals, branding, applied graphic techniques and the history of design. In practical classes, students learn to develop an idea from a first sketch to a finished product.
