This field is taught at Bukhara State Technical University and Namangan State Technical University. The Design: Textile and Light Industry Design programme teaches students to combine beauty, functionality and production possibilities. Students work on the design of fabrics, knitwear, clothing and accessories. The core subjects include:

• fundamentals of drawing and composition;
• colour theory and working with colour;
• fabric structure, raw materials and their properties;
