What is taught in this field

The Electrical Engineering programme teaches students the principles of generating, transmitting, distributing and using electrical energy. Core subjects include electrical engineering theory, electrical machines, power supply and electrical networks, electronics, and energy-efficient technologies.

Theoretical knowledge is reinforced through laboratory sessions and practical projects. Students learn to analyse electrical circuits, work with measuring instruments, read and prepare technical documentation, and use modern computer software.

Who the graduate becomes

Graduates are prepared to work as electrical engineers at power stations, electricity network operators, industrial enterprises and in automated systems. Possible positions include electrical equipment engineer, operations engineer, designer, automation and control systems specialist, and technical specialist in power supply.

In Uzbekistan, electrical engineers are regularly in demand in the power sector, industry, construction, agriculture and transport. Graduates may work at organisations that generate and distribute electricity, in design and research institutes, at factories and industrial plants, and in installation and maintenance services. Work in state administration bodies and private companies is also possible.

Training is offered at 18 universities, including Andijan State Technical Institute, Bukhara State Technical University, Fergana State Technical University and Namangan State Technical University.
