What is taught in this field

The Electronics and Instrumentation programme prepares specialists in the design, development and operation of electronic devices, measuring instruments and automatic control systems. In the first stage, students study the foundations of mathematics, physics and electrical engineering. In later years, they study in greater depth semiconductor devices, analog and digital electronics, microprocessors and microcontrollers, electronic measurement technology, automation and programming.

Theoretical knowledge is reinforced through laboratory work. Students assemble circuits, work with measuring instruments, write programs for microcontrollers and complete course projects. Getting acquainted with computer simulation software and modern engineering tools is also an important part of the learning process.

Who will graduate

Graduates can work as electronics engineers, instrumentation engineers, specialists in automation and control systems, technical service staff or researchers. At work, they design, configure, repair and test electronic devices, monitor quality and introduce new technologies. Young specialists usually start in junior technical positions and, as they gain experience, move up to project management roles.

Where you can work

Specialists in this field are in demand across many sectors. In Uzbekistan, these include industrial enterprises and manufacturing plants, energy and telecommunications organisations, producers of household appliances and automotive companies, medical equipment manufacturers, and measurement and testing laboratories. The modernisation of industry and digitalisation are increasing the need for such specialists. There are also wide opportunities in research institutes, design bureaus, IT companies and for independent professionals.

Who this programme suits

This programme suits applicants who are interested in technology, think logically and value precision. Young people who do well in mathematics and physics and want to understand how devices work can achieve good results in this field. Patience, attention to detail and the ability to work in a team are also important. If you are interested in programming, robotics or modern electronic technologies, this field may be a good match. Before choosing, it is useful to assess your interests and abilities and review the curricula of the universities offering the programme.
