What is taught in this program

This program offers in-depth study of the Dari language and its literature. Training is provided at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. Students master grammar, vocabulary, writing and speech culture. Dari is one of the official languages of Afghanistan, and a closely related variety of Persian is also widely used in Tajikistan, so knowing the language is important for relations with the region.

Core subjects include classical and modern literature, translation theory and practice, oral and written communication, and the history and culture of Afghanistan and Central Asia. Students also develop skills in a second foreign language, computer technologies and academic writing.
