Operation of Hydraulic Structures and Pumping Stations

What is taught in this program

The program prepares specialists to design, build and operate hydraulic structures and pumping stations used in water resource management, irrigation and land reclamation. Students study the following core subjects:

• fundamentals of hydraulics and hydrology;
• hydraulic structures (dams, locks, canals, hydraulic units);
• pumps and pumping stations and their operating modes;
• water supply and irrigation systems;
• strength of materials, machine parts and technical drawing;
• electrical equipment and basics of automation;
• computer-aided design (AutoCAD and other software).

Theoretical classes are usually combined with practical training and field work. The program is taught at the following universities:
