Cybersecurity Engineering

What you will study

The Cybersecurity Engineering programme teaches students how to protect computer systems, networks and information resources. In the first stage, students study mathematics, programming, computer architecture and the basics of operating systems. Later courses cover core subjects such as cryptography, network security, malware analysis, web application security and information security management.

In practical classes and laboratory work, students learn to detect attacks and prevent them in safe test environments. An important skill is finding vulnerabilities in systems and presenting the results in a clear report. Teamwork and the ability to learn new technologies independently are also developed.

Who will graduate

Graduates become information security engineers. Their professional paths include network security specialist, penetration tester (ethical hacker), information security analyst, systems protection engineer and member of an incident response team (SOC).

Job titles may vary between organisations. Demand for knowledge in this field remains steady in the labour market, because the growth of digital services increases the need for protection.

Cybersecurity specialists are needed in public administration and digital services, banks and financial organisations, telecommunications companies, healthcare, educational institutions, the energy and transport sectors. Many organisations set up internal security departments or use the services of specialised companies.

In Uzbekistan, digitalisation processes are ongoing, so the need for such specialists is growing. The workplace may be a government body, a private company or independent projects.
