Chemical Engineering

What You Will Study

The Chemical Engineering programme covers industrial processes for producing chemical substances and how they are controlled. In the first years students study mathematics, physics, general and inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and analytical chemistry. Later courses include process and equipment design, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, chemical technology, reactor theory, process control and automation.

In laboratory classes students learn to carry out experiments, analyse data, perform calculations and prepare projects. They are also trained to use computer modelling software.

Who Will Graduate

Graduates become chemical engineers who can work at chemical industry enterprises as technologists, process engineers, laboratory specialists, design engineers or production control specialists. Careers in environmental monitoring and quality management are also possible.

Graduates can work at oil and gas processing plants and enterprises in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, textile, construction materials, mineral fertilizer and plastics industries. Research institutes, design organisations, ecology and industrial safety services and state administration bodies also employ them.
