What is taught in this field

In the Metal Technologies program, students study the structure and properties of metals and the methods of their production and processing. The curriculum includes fundamentals of metallurgy, materials science, metal casting, pressure forming, welding, heat treatment and powder metallurgy. Engineering drawing, technical mechanics and computer-aided design (CAD) also help develop engineering thinking.

Practical training takes place through laboratory experiments, production internships and project work. Students learn to test the strength and quality of materials, control technological processes and carry out calculations.

Who graduates become

Graduates may work as technologists, engineers, laboratory specialists or quality control staff at metal processing enterprises. They can also aim for leading engineering positions in production, repair and installation work. Later, they may continue scientific work through a master's programme focused on research.
