What is taught in this program

In the Music Education program, students learn the theoretical and practical foundations of the art of music. The curriculum includes solfeggio, music theory, harmony, music history, folk music and choir work. Students develop skills in playing a musical instrument and in conducting vocal and choral ensembles. The program builds practical mastery alongside theoretical knowledge.

Through pedagogy, psychology and music teaching methodology, students learn how to teach music to children. Computer technologies are used for music notation and performance analysis. Practical classes, concerts and pedagogical practice are an important part of the program.

Who becomes a graduate

Graduates can work as music teachers in general secondary schools and music and art schools. They may also work as choirmasters, accompanists, music directors, performers or organizers in cultural and educational institutions. Some continue to master's and aspirantura (doctoral) studies in research.
