Native Language and Literature: Karakalpak Language

What is taught in this field

The core of the program is in-depth study of the Karakalpak language and literature. Students learn the phonetics, lexicology, morphology and syntax of the language, and study the history of Karakalpak literature and the contemporary literary process. Uzbek language, theory of literary studies and folklore are also taught.

As this is a pedagogical field, the program includes pedagogy, psychology and teaching methodology. Students develop skills in text analysis, speech culture, creative writing and oral and written communication. This field is taught at Navoi State University and Nukus State Pedagogical Institute.

Who graduates become

Graduates are prepared to work as teachers of native language and literature. They can also work as translators and editors, research staff in literary studies, editors, librarians, methodologists or specialists in cultural and educational institutions.
