What is taught in this field

The Agricultural Mechanization programme trains students in the machines and technological equipment used in crop and livestock farming. Core subjects include the theory of tractors and automobiles, agricultural machinery, technology for sowing, crop care and harvesting, as well as irrigation and land reclamation equipment.

Students also master engineering calculations, technical drawing, strength of materials, and the basics of electrical engineering and hydraulics. Through practical classes and laboratory work, they develop skills in adjusting, operating and maintaining machinery. The programme is offered at several universities in Uzbekistan, including the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies, Bukhara State Technical University, Fergana State Technical University, Namangan State Technical University and Karshi State Technical University.

What graduates become

Graduates become mechanical engineers specialising in agricultural machinery. They can work on farms, agricultural companies and machinery parks, managing technological processes, selecting machines and using them efficiently. Possible positions include engineer, technical service specialist, chief specialist in mechanization, and technical inspector, among others.
