Sports Activity: Figure Skating

What is taught in this program

The program provides theoretical and practical knowledge of figure skating. Core subjects include theory and methodology of sports training, anatomy, physiology, sports medicine, sports psychology and sports pedagogy. Students learn technical elements on ice, such as jumps, spins and skating technique, and master the basics of artistic skating, music and choreography. General physical training and elements of gymnastics and acrobatics are also an important part of the curriculum.

During the course, students develop skills in planning training sessions, analyzing athletes' movements and knowing competition rules. Practical training also gives them experience of working with children and young people.

Who will graduate

Graduates are prepared to work as figure skating coach-instructors, sports training instructors or methodologists. Their career options include coaching young athletes, leading a group, working as a choreographer, and serving as a judge at competitions.
