Sports activity: karate WKF

What is taught in this field

In the karate WKF programme, students study the theoretical and practical foundations of sport karate in line with the rules of the World Karate Federation (WKF). The programme focuses on mastering the techniques and tactics needed for kata (technical forms) and kumite (sparring).

Main subjects and skills:

• karate technique and teaching methods: strikes, blocks and kicks, kata and kumite training;
• anatomy, physiology and sports hygiene;
• theory and methodology of sports training, physical preparation;
• pedagogy and psychology, skills for working in groups;
• sports medicine and basic first aid;
• organisation of competitions and refereeing rules.

During training practice, students also gain experience working with groups of children and adolescents.

Who will the graduate become
