Sports Activity: Para Taekwondo WTF

What is taught in this field

Students gain theoretical and practical knowledge of para taekwondo. The main focus is on working with athletes with disabilities, technical elements of taekwondo (strikes, defence and movement techniques), and methods of planning and conducting training sessions.

The programme covers the following subjects:

• sports anatomy and physiology;
• theory and methodology of physical education;
• fundamentals of adaptive physical education;
• para taekwondo technique and tactics;
• sports psychology;
• sports medicine and basics of first aid;
• WTF competition rules and refereeing practice.

Students also develop skills in analysing the training process, communicating within a group and motivating athletes.

Who the graduate becomes

Graduates are prepared to work with athletes with disabilities. Possible professions and positions include:

• para taekwondo coach;
• instructor in adaptive physical education;
