Sports Activity: Fencing

What is taught in this program

The program prepares specialists in fencing. Training is delivered at two higher education institutions: the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and its Nukus branch. Students study the core disciplines of sports theory and practice: theory and methods of physical education, anatomy, physiology, sports psychology and sports hygiene. Practical classes develop technique and tactics in the three fencing disciplines: foil, epee and sabre. Students learn footwork, attacking and defensive actions, distance control and tactical thinking.

Students also become familiar with general physical training exercises, the rules for organizing and holding competitions, and the basics of refereeing.
