This programme is offered at 11 higher education institutions, for example: Andijan State University, Fergana State University, Gulistan State University, Namangan State University, Navoi State University, Uzbekistan State University of Physical Culture and Sports and its Nukus branch, and Karshi State University.

What is taught in this field

Students get acquainted with the main types of athletics: running, jumping, throwing and race walking. The study includes sports theory, anatomy, physiology, fundamentals of physical education, sports hygiene, sports psychology and pedagogy.

Practical training is the core of the programme. Students master technical skills and learn how to plan training sessions, organise competitions and understand the basics of officiating. They also develop the ability to monitor their own health and improve physical qualities.

Who will the graduate become

Graduates can work as physical education teachers, athletics coaches or sports instructors. They teach young people athletics, improve their physical fitness and prepare them for competitions in schools, sports clubs and children and youth sports schools.
