International Relations

What is taught in this field

The International Relations programme studies political, economic and legal ties between states, international organisations and regions. Core subjects include theory of international relations, history of diplomacy, international law, world politics, foundations of foreign policy, international economics and regional studies. Foreign languages (often English, Russian, Arabic, Chinese or others) are taught at a practical level, since communication and working with documents are central to this field.

Students develop skills in analysis, fact-checking, preparing documents and negotiations, public speaking and teamwork. Many universities offer practical classes, seminars, simulations and opportunities linked to international conferences.
