What is taught in this field

In the Jurisprudence programme, students become familiar with the basic principles of the legal system. The curriculum covers the theory of state and law, constitutional law, civil law, criminal law, administrative law, international law and other core disciplines.

The learning process develops practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge: analysing legal documents, preparing applications and complaints, interpreting laws correctly, and presenting arguments clearly in discussions and in writing.

Who the graduate becomes

Graduates of Jurisprudence can work as legal professionals. They are prepared for the following roles and positions:

• lawyer, legal adviser;
• specialist in courts, the prosecutor’s office and law enforcement bodies;
• preparation for work as an advocate or notary;
• legal officer in state bodies and other organisations.

Specific positions and requirements depend on the chosen specialisation, additional qualifications and practical experience.

In Uzbekistan, legal specialists are regularly needed by state bodies, the court system, law enforcement agencies, the advocacy, notary offices, private companies, banks, international organisations and non-governmental non-profit organisations.

In business, there is demand for legal support of contracts, corporate law and labour relations, while public service involves tasks related to preparing legislation and monitoring its implementation.
