Various opinions about the "Urgent 90 Days" initiative are being observed on social networks. Among them are both accurate ones and, unfortunately, those that misinterpret the initiative. Today we prepared a video explaining these inaccuracies. It contains 5 misconceptions about the "Urgent 90 Days" events and explanations from the ministry.
❌1. Such events have never been held before; they were invented to make teachers work.
✅ - Necessary measures have been implemented to ensure students' enjoyable recreation and meaningful leisure time during summer holidays.
In this regard, the Ministry, together with other partner organizations and local authorities, has established day camps in designated schools. Various cultural and sports events, competitions and contests have been held, with student participation being voluntary and children involved only with parental consent.
Teachers who participated in these events were involved outside of their vacation time, during established working hours.
This year, day camps have been set up in 1,239 general education schools under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education system, with plans to voluntarily involve about 170,000 students in the "Urgent 90 Days" activities.
Work is underway to incentivize teachers who voluntarily participate in these schools during their free time outside of vacation with one-time monetary rewards.
❌2. Now teachers won't have summer breaks
✅ - The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 26, 2023, "On Measures to Establish the Duration Standards for Annual Extended Labor Leave for Teachers," has set a 56-calendar-day labor leave for general education school teachers.
A schedule has been approved for the summer vacation of teachers from all existing general education schools in the country, ensuring that teachers take their full leave on the established days according to this plan.
❌3. Teachers will go door-to-door in the summer
✅ - The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Status of a Teacher" specifically prohibits involving teachers in work unrelated to their professional activities.
Based on this legal requirement, the idea of teachers going door-to-door during summer vacation is completely unfounded.
❌4. The Urgent 90 Days is forced labor
✅ - According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Status of a Teacher," it is prohibited to administratively compel a teacher to work in any form.
Teachers who voluntarily participate in the "Urgent 90 Days" events will be granted leave according to the established schedule. Those who voluntarily participate in the events during their working hours will be rewarded with one-time monetary bonuses.
❌5. Students are also mandatorily called to school in summer
✅ - Students' participation in "Urgent 90 Days" events is voluntary, and children are involved only with their parents' consent.
