71-year-old housewife Selma Shahin, a resident of Kutahya, Turkey, has successfully completed her university education, which she started two years ago, reports Milliyet.
A mother of two children and four grandchildren who were forced to drop out of high school in her youth due to financial difficulties in the family, after graduating from high school and lyceum in the open, having scored enough points on university entrance exams, Kütahya began studying at the Professional Higher School of Fine Arts at Dumlupınar University (DPÜ).
According to Shahine's information to the publication, she chose this direction precisely because she loved painting and was interested in art. He was friendly with other students and never missed a class at all. She emphasized that her classmates closely assisted Shah in all matters, particularly in computer lessons.
The 71-year-old graduate also says that being a housewife did not interfere with her education in any way, and her husband, a craftsman, provided her with maximum support in terms of education.
However, there were also those who tried to obstruct him on this path. Some said, "Stay home at this age, what's the point of studying?" Although these thoughts slightly offended the elderly woman, she says she hasn't abandoned her studies.

My father couldn't educate me due to financial difficulties, so I had to drop out of high school. Education had become a dream for me. I had the opportunity to study at an older age. It is noted that Shahin, who successfully completed a two-year graphic design course, will receive a specialist diploma at the graduation ceremony on June 27.
