President Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech at the event.

The significant strengthening of the activities of the Central Election Commission, the creation of professional election bodies played an important role in the fairness of the elections.

The President of our country expressed special gratitude to the election commissions of all levels, in particular the Central Election Commission, which ensured that the elections were held in full compliance with the requirements of the legislation and international standards.

As a result of the elections, the composition of the Legislative Chamber was updated by almost 60 percent, and 87 new deputies were elected.

Eleven of the deputies were elected to the Legislative Chamber under the age of 35, and for the first time two representatives of the Youth Parliament. In particular, 38% of deputies are women, which is the highest figure in the region.

For the first time in our history, a citizen with disabilities was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Chamber. It was recognized that this is another important step on the path to transforming our parliament into a truly inclusive body, more broadly representing the interests of this stratum.

It was noted that the re-election of 63 deputies in the new composition will serve to ensure continuity and professionalism in the work of the parliament.
