The Tashkent Branch of St. Petersburg State University is a separate structural unit of St. Petersburg State University in Uzbekistan, giving applicants the opportunity to study SPbU educational programmes right in Tashkent. The branch admits students to bachelor's and master's programmes on a fee-paying contract basis.
The branch was established in Tashkent in January 2021 by a Presidential decree, and began its educational activities in the 2021/2022 academic year. Its official full name is “St. Petersburg State University” Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education, Tashkent Branch.
The branch currently announces admission to the following programmes:
The programmes are developed by leading scientists of St. Petersburg State University. Instruction is initially conducted in Russian, with teaching in other languages planned for the future.
Graduates receive an SPbU diploma recognised in Uzbekistan. Admission is carried out through a personal account: applicants submit an application and a portfolio (document selection), and take a Russian-language entrance test; in-person attendance is not required. An open doors day was held at the branch in April 2026, giving prospective students the chance to get to know the programmes and study conditions more closely. The academic potential of SPbU and the opportunity to earn a recognised diploma make the branch a convenient choice for those planning higher education in Tashkent.
