On October 13-14, 2024, the 1st International Balloon Festival was held at the Ichan-Kala complex in Khiva under the slogan "Clear sky". During the festival, German pilot Ellie Danington broke her world record by flying over Khiva. Uzbekistan became the 118th country where Ellie Dunning flew. Also, the government of Uzbekistan aims to create new opportunities for women in the country. In this context, Ellie Dunnington is planning to open a school for female pilots in Uzbekistan. This school opens new paths for women in the field of piloting.
