Articles 12/12/2024 Is it true that history teachers teach law?

As you know, previously, graduates with a higher education in history were able to teach the subject "Fundamentals of State and Law" in general education schools. This was due to the fact that they studied the subject of "Law" in higher education institutions. However, the current regulatory documents have changed this procedure.

In accordance with the order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education No. 238 dated August 1, 2024, the following requirements have been established:

have at least a bachelor's degree in higher pedagogical education corresponding to the subject taught by the subject teacher;

have at least a bachelor's degree in another higher education and have completed relevant retraining courses.

Based on these requirements, the right to teach the subject "Fundamentals of State and Law" for history graduates has not been established. For example, this subject is not provided for in the educational program of the bachelor's degree program 5120300-History (by countries of the world).

2030 Agenda

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 189 of April 6, 2021, starting from 2030, only persons with a higher legal education or who have completed special pedagogical retraining courses can teach legal disciplines.

Also, by Resolution No. 532 of August 27, 2024, it was established that teachers teaching law in general education institutions will undergo free retraining courses. This process will continue until 2015.

Methodological materials

The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan provide methodological assistance to teachers of the subject "Fundamentals of State and Law." They will also be provided with the following training materials:

- video lessons;

- presentations;

- visual aids;

- educational and methodological materials.

These updates are aimed at improving the quality of education and deepening legal knowledge, ensuring that graduates work in their specialty.
