Information Security

What is taught in this field

The Information Security program is taught at 18 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, including Andijan State Technical Institute, Bukhara State University and Namangan State Technical University. Students learn the basics of protecting information and ensuring the security of networks and systems. The program includes mathematics and programming fundamentals, computer networks, operating systems, database management and the basics of cryptography. Students also learn methods of protecting information systems, defending against malicious software, and detecting and responding to network attacks.

Practical classes are held in laboratories. Students analyze real systems and complete assignments to find security weaknesses.

Who will graduate

Graduates become information security specialists and can work in positions such as information security specialist, system administrator, network security engineer, data protection analyst and cybersecurity specialist.

Information security specialists can work in government agencies, banks and financial organizations, telecommunications companies, education and healthcare institutions, and IT companies. As digital services expand, attention to this field is growing.

This program suits applicants with logical thinking, an interest in mathematics and computers, and an interest in information security issues. Attentiveness, responsibility and readiness to solve problems independently are important. Knowledge of English will be useful, since much of the literature in this field is published in English.
