What is taught in this field

The Accounting program teaches how to reflect the economic activity of enterprises and organizations in monetary and other indicators. Students study accounting as the “language” of the economy, since this field organizes all economic processes. The core subjects include accounting theory, financial reporting, taxes and taxation, auditing fundamentals, economic theory, statistics and mathematics. Students also become familiar with the national accounting standards of Uzbekistan.

Great attention is paid to practical skills: working with documents, keeping accounting registers, preparing reports in computer programs and using the capabilities of Excel.

Who the graduate becomes

Graduates can work as accountants, accountant-analysts, financial specialists, tax specialists or assistant auditors. With experience, there is an opportunity to advance to chief accountant or head of a finance department. Some specialists later open their own accounting service.

Accountants are needed in industry, agriculture, trade and services, as well as in construction and transport enterprises. Specialists can work in banks, insurance companies, budget organizations, tax and finance authorities, audit firms, and in small businesses and private entrepreneurship. Since accounting and reporting work is important in every organization, this profession is in demand across many sectors.

If you like working carefully with documents, studying laws and regulations, or thinking logically, this field may suit you. Computer literacy and good reading and writing skills are also useful.
