The Renewable Energy Sources programme covers the theoretical foundations of generating electricity and heat from solar, wind, water, biomass and geothermal energy. Core subjects include mathematics, physics, electrical engineering and thermodynamics. In later stages, students learn about solar and wind installations, energy-saving systems, automation and the design of energy supply systems. In laboratories and practical work, future specialists learn to test equipment, perform calculations and use computer software.

The programme is offered at 14 universities, including: Andijan State Technical Institute, Andijan State University, Bukhara State Technical University, Fergana State Technical University, Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, Namangan State Technical University, Nukus State Technical University and Karshi State Technical University.
