Is one of the medical higher education institutions under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is considered a premier institute of higher learning that produces highly qualified doctors with profound knowledge for the Republic and the Central Asian region. The Bukhara State Medical Institute was established in 1990 by a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In March 1991, the institute was named after the great scholar Abu Ali ibn Sino.

Currently, the institute has 8 faculties and 43 departments, including undergraduate programs in 8 fields of study, graduate programs in 23 specialties, and clinical residency programs in more than 40 specialties and 20 joint programs.

The Institute educates over 8,500 students and residents. A total of 480 faculty members work at the Institute, including 50 Doctors of Science, 18 professors, 210 Candidates of Science and Associate Professors, and 100 senior lecturers.

Library (ARM)
The total collection of the Information Resource Center of the Bukhara State Medical Institute consists of 179,180 items in 22,266 titles. Including:
educational literature: 90,231 items in 6,044 titles;
fiction: 24,812 items in 2,319 titles;
popular science literature: 7,798 items in 3,154 titles;
other types of literature: 56,339 items in 10,749 titles.

Of these, the total numbers for each language are:
Latin: 451/22883;
Cyrillic: 5997/82030;
Russian: 7462/62435;
Foreign: 412/10500.
To promote reading culture, the Information Resource Center created a virtual electronic library with QR codes called "SMART BOOK shallehce." This site is a separate platform through arsenal D xosning, containing approximately 3,000 literary works. The ARM Telegram channel hosts 4,631 medical textbooks and teaching materials, while Book.bsmi.uz features 2,249 medical textbooks and teaching materials with QR codes.
