The Ministry of Education and Science reports that the district and city stage of the republic-wide science Olympiad is underway. The Olympiad is held in four stages and is aimed at identifying talented young people and assessing the knowledge and abilities of students in general secondary schools, academic lyceums and vocational education institutions.

What is happening now

Tests in the Karakalpak, Tajik and German languages are being held in all districts and cities. Based on the results, three winners are identified in each subject. They receive a referral to the third, regional stage.

Cash prizes

Winners of the regional and republican stages receive cash prizes. At the republican stage, the awards are:

• 1st place: 12 times the base calculation value;
• 2nd place: 8 times the base calculation value;
• 3rd place: 6 times the base calculation value.

Advantage for university admission

Republican stage winners receive the maximum score on the subject exam for admission to state higher education institutions. This is an important advantage for students who achieve strong results in the Olympiad.

Students and parents are advised to follow the district and city stage results on time.
