The adaptation of a child admitted to the 1st grade of a general education school to the learning process, especially their health, physical and mental readiness, is of great importance. Therefore, when enrolling children in school, parents are required to provide several medical certificates.

Dilobar Hidoyatova, the chief pediatrician of the Tashkent City Health Department, provided information about the necessary medical examinations for admitting a child to the 1st grade.

"According to the amendments made to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education" on September 23, 2020, the age for admission to the 1st grade of general education schools was set at 7 years," says the specialist.

- If the child went to a preschool educational institution, they undergo regular medical examinations by specialists of the regional family polyclinic during the kindergarten period, and a medical certificate of form 026, confirming their health, is submitted to the admissions committee.

If the child did not attend kindergarten, according to the order of the Ministry of Health dated July 27, 2022, the child will be examined by the following specialists: dentist, endocrinologist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, speech therapist, psychoneurologist, and family doctor on the basis of a referral to the regional family polyclinic to obtain a medical certificate form 026. In addition, the child must undergo general blood and urine tests, as well as 3 laboratory tests against worms.

Children should also be vaccinated against a number of diseases in accordance with the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar. These vaccination data must be confirmed by a medical certificate of form 063. Vaccines include viral hepatitis B, tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, rotavirus infections, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Hib infection, measles, mumps, and pneumococcal infections.
