News 22/06/2025 Now, when obtaining a US student visa, the applicant's social media accounts will also be checked

This procedure came into effect yesterday and applies to obtaining F (education), M (non-academic and vocational education), and J (exchange program) type visas.

🌐 According to this, visa applicants will be asked to change the privacy settings on all their social media accounts to "public" status. In other words, "locked" profiles need to be unlocked.

📋 When filling out the DS-160 form to apply for a visa, applicants are required to enter all names and aliases they have used on social networks over the past 5 years.

Before submitting the signed form, applicants must confirm that all information provided in the completed DS-160 form is correct and truthful.

❌ Failure to provide information related to social networks may result in rejection of the visa application and possible loss of the right to obtain a visa in the future.
