Individuals who combine their work or teaching activities with scientific work are granted creative leave at their main place of employment with retention of average salary and position for the following periods:
✅up to three months for completing a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and for authors of textbooks and teaching-methodological manuals;
✅up to six months for completing a doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc).
When teams of authors are writing textbooks and teaching-methodological manuals, one member of the team may be granted creative leave based on a written application signed by all members of the authors' team. The authors also have the right to divide the leave among themselves.
Applicants for academic degrees, as well as authors of textbooks or teaching-methodological manuals, are granted their regular annual leave regardless of whether they have used creative leave.
The procedure for granting creative leave is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
