News 14/02/2025 A system for admission to universities starting from the 3rd year will be introduced

Significant changes are expected in Uzbekistan's education system. From now on, graduates of colleges and technical schools will be able to continue their studies directly at higher educational institutions, even from the 3rd year.

New system of transition from college-technical school to university

Based on this system, the programs of colleges and technical schools will be integrated with universities:

  • The curricula, textbooks, and criteria for assessing knowledge for the 1st and 2nd years will be the same as in universities.
  • A credit-module system will also be introduced in technical schools.
  • Credits accumulated by students are recognized by universities.

This allows students to continue their studies from the 2nd or 3rd year of university through the 2+2 or 2+3 system.

Higher education will also be opened for workers.

A new system will also be introduced for those who graduate from colleges and technical schools and want to continue working in production:

After two or three years of work and gaining experience, students studying in the working profession can take an exam and receive a qualification equivalent to a "bachelor."

This creates new opportunities for professional growth, combining work experience and higher education.

Advantages of the new direction in education

The transition system to universities will be simplified - graduates of colleges and technical schools will save time for university admission.

Knowledge is recognized through the credit system - students do not need to re-educate what they previously learned at the university.

The opportunity to obtain a bachelor's degree with work experience makes it easier for experienced specialists to have higher education.

This innovation opens up great opportunities for students of technical schools and colleges and serves to make the education system more effective.
