Articles 15/01/2025 University with the largest number of students in Uzbekistan?

    The statistical data platform of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has updated its report related to higher education institutions as of January 2025.

Number of students

     According to him, the total number of universities in Uzbekistan is 208, of which 108 are state, 30 are foreign, and 70 are non-state universities.

     According to statistics, 995,551 students are enrolled in state universities and 515,634 in non-state universities. 173 thousand 788 of them are studying on the basis of a state grant, and 1 million 377 thousand 384 are studying on the basis of a payment contract.

     The number of universities in the republic is distributed by type of organization as follows: 1 conservatory, 5 academies, 40 branches of universities, 53 institutes, and 109 universities.

Based on their territorial location, the universities look as follows:

     There are 12 higher education institutions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 3 in Navoi and Syrdarya, 8 in Khorezm, 11 in Bukhara, 6 in Surkhandarya, 5 in Jizzakh, 14 in Samarkand and Tashkent regions, 9 in Andijan, Kashkadarya and Namangan, 13 in Fergana, and 92 in Tashkent.

Universities with the highest number of students

       In the list of universities with the largest number of students, Tashkent State Economic University leads with 47,140 students. The Tashkent International University of Chemistry finished second with 35,666 students, and the National University of Uzbekistan finished third with 34,450 students. The Institute of International School of Finance Technology and Science (ISFT) took the fourth place with 29,561 students, and the Tashkent University of Applied Sciences took the fifth place with 28,345 students.
