A meeting was held between officials of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and professors of the Japanese "Kyushu Institute of Technology".
Today, Uzbekistan effectively cooperates with major countries of the global space market, authoritative agencies, and leading universities in conducting space research, introducing modern technologies, and training highly qualified personnel for the industry.
In particular, the Uzbekcosmos Agency is implementing joint educational projects and programs with the USA, Great Britain, France, South Korea, China, Japan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan in order to further develop space education in the country and increase the knowledge and experience of young people in such areas as technical engineering, astronautics, and astronomy.
The agreement signed with the Kyushu Institute of Technology, one of the leading universities in Japan, also provides for the training of 7 young design engineers for 2 years in the field of spacecraft design, assembly, and testing at the master's level. During this period, it is planned that they, together with experienced Japanese professors, will create the first scientific and technological satellite of Uzbekistan "6U Cubsat" and launch it into orbit.
It should be noted that the Decree of the Head of State "On Measures for the Introduction of Aerospace Technologies in Sectors of the Economy in 2024-2026" serves as the legal basis for the implementation of this project.
For reference:
The Kyushu Institute of Technology, founded in 1907, ranks among the top 1000 universities in the world according to the QS ranking. To date, more than 70,000 engineers have graduated from it, meeting the requirements of highly qualified students. Today, in the field of space education, the institute cooperates with many countries, training a group of design engineers and assisting in the creation of satellites.
In October 2024, the Kyushu Institute of Technology launched a promising partnership with the Technical University of Moldova within the framework of the J-CUBE program, developed by the Japan Aerospace Research Agency (JAXA) and supported by the UNISEC consortium. This global initiative is aimed at developing nanosatellites, uniting universities around the world for joint research and development in the field of space technologies.
