Today, most Uzbeks do not work with a diploma, the online platform HeadHunter Uzbekistan reported, citing a recent study.
According to a survey conducted by the online platform among job seekers, only one-third of the population reported working according to their education. Others have completely changed their field or are only partially applying their diploma knowledge.
According to the main conclusion of the study, there is a difference between the needs of education and the labor market in Uzbekistan.
The survey result is as follows:
- 64% of respondents have higher education or postgraduate education;
- 78 percent said that if it were possible, they would have chosen another specialty;
- Only 27% of people consider a diploma a key factor in career success, while most emphasize experience, flexibility, and skills;
- 74% of participants support online education, but only a third of them consider it a complete alternative to university.
According to the data provided, although employers still pay attention to diplomas, they value practical experience, initiative, and adaptability even more highly.
