Most young people oppose physical punishment

85.5% of Uzbek youth admit that physical punishment has a negative impact on the mental and health of children. The most common consequences of this process have been identified as mental state and educational problems.

61.3% of respondents noted that conflicts between parents have a serious negative impact on the child. This process leads to the formation of stress and unpleasant behavior in children's mental states.

Consequences of corporal punishment

According to the infographic, the most common consequences of physical punishment for children are:

Negative impact on mental state: 38.4% of women and 36.0% of men noted this factor as the main problem.

Health problems: 19.6% of female respondents and 15.9% of male respondents emphasized the negative health consequences of physical punishment.

Learning difficulties: 12.7% of women and 9.8% of men highlighted this factor.

Attitudes and behavioral changes

Corporal punishment also affects the relationship between the victim and the child: 10.8% of women and 11.6% of men believe this. A negative change in behavior was also noted by 7.6% of women and 8.6% of men.

Misunderstandings in education

Although 11.2% of men and 6.8% of women believe that physical punishment can have a positive impact on the upbringing of children, the negative consequences of this approach manifest themselves on a much wider scale.

Preventing child abuse is important

To prevent violence against children, it is important to remember:
