Articles 10/02/2025 Is "Red Diploma" the wrong motivation in the education system?

Currently, obtaining a "red diploma" is becoming not only a symbol of successful completion of higher education for most students, but also a magic key that opens up many opportunities. However, to think that this in itself will bring some benefits is a failure to approach the truth. Students, especially those who graduated from undergraduate school with high scores, often expect this diploma to give them master's degree admission, employment, or other advantages. But the truth is different.

The original purpose of the "red diploma" was not to create any special advantages for its holder. It was supposed to be issued only as an "honorary diploma" for students who achieved high results. But today, the desire to obtain this diploma, in essence, reflects not only the desire to acquire knowledge or rise, but also exacerbates incorrect and comparative motivations.

In many cases, a student believes that by receiving a "red diploma," they simply enhance their reputation. However, in real life, it has no significant benefit. A "red diploma" does not give any advantages when entering a master's program or getting a job in a large company. Instead, it is necessary to strive to develop real knowledge and practical skills in students. The higher education system in our country sometimes creates excessive motivation behind the "red diploma" and shows that it is accepted only as formal education.

Therefore, the education system should be oriented not only towards the struggle for high scores or prestige, but also towards real and deep directions of learning. It is necessary to encourage our youth to strive for high goals, increase their creativity, and prepare them for social life. The main goal of the "red diploma," in essence, is not only to achieve high scores, but also to deeply master knowledge and be ready to apply it in practice.

If we set obtaining real knowledge and training personnel as the main goal in the education system, interest in "red diplomas" will decrease. Another important aspect is the fight against corruption. Unfortunately, some students take biased paths to obtain high scores and "red diplomas," which further exacerbates injustice and corruption in society. The real goal of developing this system is to educate knowledgeable and sincere young people, to help them find their place in the field.

Let's focus on successfully completing studies not only on obtaining a diploma, but also on acquiring solid knowledge and working for the prosperity of our country. To change the education system in our country and eliminate corruption, it is necessary to reject the biased intentions hidden behind the term "red diploma."

Now, if students truly understand the importance of education and aim to serve society through their knowledge, rather than for the sake of receiving it, we would achieve the main achievement.

In your opinion, how can the education system be oriented towards real goals for students?
