In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, admission to correspondence forms of education in all higher educational institutions has been suspended.

According to official data, 714,045 students are currently studying part-time at branches of state, non-state, and foreign universities.

Based on this, according to calculations by Bektosh Khotamov, more than 15,000 jobs may be lost as a result of the closure of distance learning.

Although these indicators are currently approximate, in reality, this figure is likely to be several times higher.
