Universities 24/12/2024 Singapore Institute for Management Development in Tashkent

  Among the universities operating in Uzbekistan, the British universities of Bangor, Sunderland, and Tissay have established an educational program and award diplomas of this level. One of them is the Singapore Institute for Management Development in Tashkent. The university will train leading personnel in the republic in the field of tourism and business.

University history

In January 2007, the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I. Karimov, will pay a state visit to Singapore at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. S.R. Natan, President of the Republic of Singapore.  During the visit, issues of expanding Uzbek-Singapore cooperation and pressing international issues of mutual interest will be discussed.

 Subsequently, the parties focused directly on the creation of educational programs in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the development of this industry. Following this, the TSMRI (Singaporean Institute for Management Development in Tashkent) was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 5, 2007, No. PP-691.  Today, TSMRI provides students with the opportunity to develop professionally through academic programs for citizens of Uzbekistan and other countries in areas such as Entrepreneurship and Management, Business and Marketing, Banking and Finance, Accounting and Finance, Business Accounting, International Hospitality Management, in cooperation with UK universities.

  TSMRI offers undergraduate and graduate programs. At the end of these programs, the certificates issued to students are recognized by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as internationally. Currently, more than 3,500 students from all regions of Uzbekistan, including South Korea, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan, are studying at the TSMRI.            In April 2015, TSMRI became the first higher education institution in the country to receive an international quality certificate, having received the ISO 9001:2008 certificate issued by the International Organization for Standardization.

  Currently, the TSMRI, which occupies an area of more than 5.2 hectares, has modern training and lecture rooms, computer laboratories, a hotel practice laboratory, a tennis court, an indoor swimming pool, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, a football, a gym and a running track. Also, on the territory of the Singapore Institute for Management Development in Tashkent, there is a student dormitory with 140 beds, adapted for students from different regions of Uzbekistan and from abroad.               The dormitory administration has established strict rules and regulations that require students to follow strict discipline. 24-hour security is available in the dormitory area. Non-residents and persons without identity documents are strictly prohibited from entering the dormitory.                    Currently, the TSMRI employs about 200 employees. Along with local professionals, TSMRI strives to attract renowned talent to provide the best learning experience for its students, including Singapore, America, Turkey, Great Britain, Iran, Spain, South Korea and many other highly qualified faculty.              It is also possible to effectively utilize grants and benefits allocated to students at the university. Socially active students can receive a fee for a 4-year contract and work along with their studies.
