In Tashkent, cooperation between private education centers and public schools is being set up. This was announced at a presentation on social infrastructure development projects in the capital, which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed.
According to the presentation, this cooperation will create conditions for schoolchildren to prepare for university admission and learn new languages directly at their own school. As a result, extra preparation could become available within the school itself.
The presentation also discussed improving standard school designs. In particular, 24 new school projects with a total capacity of 38,000 seats have been prepared for the 2026–2027 school year. These projects will include 17 additional features, such as:
In the 2025–2026 school year, the shortage of student places in Tashkent schools reached 141,000. By the 2030–2031 school year, this figure could rise to 212,000.
For this reason, the plan is to create a total of 126,000 additional student places by 2030 using republican and local budgets. If these plans are implemented, finding a school place in the capital should become considerably easier.
