What is taught in this programme

The programme combines in-depth study of the Turkish language with the core areas of translation theory and practice. Students strengthen their knowledge of Turkish grammar, vocabulary and norms of speech etiquette, and learn to analyse the similarities and differences between Uzbek and Turkish.

Core subjects include the fundamentals of translation theory, written and oral translation practice, translation of scientific, technical and official documents, literary translation and terminology. Courses on Turkish literature and culture broaden language skills and help students grasp the meaning of texts more deeply. Students also learn to work with computer-assisted translation tools.

Practical classes play an important role: students translate texts on various topics and develop speaking skills through discussions and role-play exercises.

Who will graduates become

Graduates are specialists who speak Turkish fluently and have mastered translation theory and practice. They can work as written or interpreting translators, editors or translation specialists. They may also take positions as translator-referents, linguistic analysts or teachers in education.

Freelance translation work is also possible, which allows flexible working hours.
