Despite his 20 years of experience, almost nothing came of the 800 applications he submitted in the last year. Sean had previously lost his job during the 2008 financial crisis and pandemic, but he managed to find work again in a short time. However, in 2024, he was fired again due to the development of artificial intelligence.

Despite 20 years of experience and a computer science diploma, after submitting 800 applications, only 10 were called for interviews, some of which were conducted by artificial intelligence, not humans.
