In Uzbekistan, it is planned to designate education and healthcare workers as persons responsible for the education and upbringing of children. If they repeatedly engage in negative behavior towards a child within a year, they will be included in a special register and prohibited from working in organizations involved in child-related activities.
A draft of amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility and the Law "On the Status of Teachers" has been developed. This was announced by Laylo Fayzimurodova, Deputy Head of the Department of the National Agency for Social Protection, in an interview with a Gazeta.uz correspondent.
According to her, the amendment to Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility designates not only parents but also employees of educational and healthcare institutions, such as teachers, educators, doctors, and nurses, as persons responsible for the upbringing and education of minors.
"Because they work directly with minors, and children are sometimes under their care. If employees of the education and healthcare sectors are held liable under Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and continue negative behavior towards a child within a year, then, according to the proposed amendment to the Law 'On the Status of Teachers,' their activities in the institution will be suspended," Laylo Fayzimurodova said.
Additionally, such individuals will be included in the register for causing harm to a child's health and will be prohibited from working in organizations and institutions (kindergartens, schools, hospitals, etc.) involved in child-related activities.
It is noted that the draft law has passed the departmental agreement stage and has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers by the National Agency for Social Protection.
